Writing: Write your introduction and conclusion (5-7 sentences each) and upload to seesaw. This is for your opinion essay. Reading: Go to Readworks and complete the assignment assigned today which is titled: 'The Dino Express'. Here are your assignments for today. Again, because of seesaw, your assignments will look different than the original plan. :)
Reading: Commonlit- Read 'Where the Sidewalk Ends' and answer all questions. Writing: Work on the body of your opinion essay and submit on Seesaw. Read for 30 minutes today, write a 1 paragraph summary and upload to Seesaw. Here are your assignments for today. You are able to upload to Seesaw, I am just unable to right now. So, once you finish an assignment, take a picture/screenshot and upload to seesaw for me to see. First, read Graveyards of the Dinosaurs. Then, define the highlighted words using this website: https://kids.britannica.com/kids/browse/dictionary Your words are: fossils, paleontologists, uncanny sandstone. Then, use each of these words in a sentence.
For writing, your prompt for the final essay is this: Should students be required to take P.E.? Submit your opinion (YES or NO) to Seesaw and write 3 reasons (in complete sentences) to support your reasoning.
Example: Prompt: Should students be required to wear uniforms? Opinion= Yes, students should be required to wear uniforms. Reason #1: Wearing uniforms creates unity in a school. Reason #2: Wearing uniforms gets rid of competition for the most expensive clothing. Reason #3: Wearing uniforms allows students to get more sleep as they do not have to worry about what they will wear in the morning. This week we will dig deeper into what fact and opinion is. We will spend the week talking about dinosaurs and other fun topics! We will also start using padlet daily to answer a prompt.
