This week we will continue to learn about Heri Matisse. I will be seeing you in my zoom classroom this week to read a story about our artist of the month.
On Seesaw you will be completing a Matisse painting match. You will be dragging and dropping the name of a Matisse painting to match the actual painting. Do your research as you complete this assignment to make sure you are getting the name of the Matisse paintings correct. When you are done, print out NINE Matisse paintings. You can use the ones from our assignment or you can find new ones, but MAKE SURE you know the names of the paintings. We will be playing a BINGO game during our Zoom Meeting with your Matisse paintings. On Wednesday, May 20, at 2pm we will have a Zoom meeting to discuss our new artist. We will be having an open discussion about Henri Matisse and I will read a new story about our artist. At the end if we have time we will play a game. For the entire month of May please choose one activity from the Art Challenge Board to complete every week. Remember if you’ve already completed one of the challenges you must choose a new challenge the following week! This week we will continue to learn about Heri Matisse. I will be seeing you in my zoom classroom this week to read a story about our artist of the month. You may also complete this fun drawing, cutting, and gluing activity to create a masterpiece (or “moosterpiece”) like Henri Matisse. On the page below is a “roll-the-dice” game. Roll a die for each column to decide what your masterpiece will look like. Draw the shape you rolled onto a piece of colored paper. Cut it out. Glue it down to a plain white or black sheet of paper. Continue to do this until all of the coloumns have been completed. I can’t wait to see your final products! (include the roll-a-dice game from above) Here is an example of what your masterpiece may look like: On Wednesday, May 13, at 2pm we will have a Zoom meeting to discuss our new artist. We will be having an open discussion about Henri Matisse. If you have questions bring them! If your masterpiece is completed by then, I would love to see it and talk about it. You may submit your masterpieces via Seesaw! This week we will begin a Roy Lichtenstein-Inspired Art Project!
We will be making Caricatures! You will be meeting with me on Zoom to have an old-fashioned Art Lesson on Caricature drawing. Together we will be drawing YOUR caricature. To prepare for this lesson, please find one photograph of you that you like. Make sure you are not wearing any accessories (i.e. no sunglasses) and make sure all of your facial features are visible. To prepare for our lesson together, you may watch these Youtube videos and begin practicing your caricature drawing at home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcyVBUOWUks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxKe6klFiE0&t=308s (you may check out more Youtube videos by Rowser World on caricature drawing) For the entire month of April please choose one activity from the Art Challenge Board to complete every week. ZOOM Time: Tuesdays at 2 p.m. on Ms. Ossenfort's Zoom Account ART For the entire month of April please choose one activity from the Art Challenge Board to complete every week. We will also be learning about the artist Roy Lichtenstein this month! Please watch this introductory recording I made about Roy Lichtenstein and follow the assignment at the end! You may submit your photos over Seesaw. I would also like for you to research 5 interesting facts about Roy Lichtenstein to share with me! https://youtu.be/auDUTerFllI This week, you will continue to learn about Pablo Picasso. I would like for you to use your iPads to research facts about Pablo Picasso. Answer my questions below through your research.
After answering your five facts, please complete: This week we will be going on a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art! https://www.metmuseum.org/art/online-features/metkids/explore/ Follow the instructions in the Youtube video! Find 5 paintings you like, write down the name of the work and the artist! Help Ms. Guin choose the next artist we are going to study! Tuesday:
Students will create a color wheel of found things at home. All color wheels should include an array of objects in primary, secondary, and tertiary colors, placed in color order. Color Wheels should have Red, Red-Orange, Orange, Yellow-Orange, Yellow, Yellow-Green, Green, Blue-Green, Blue, Blue-Violet, Violet, and Red-Violet Objects. Take a picture of each color wheel that is created. Challenge your student to go further by creating a Value Wheel. Choose one color and find all variations of that color in your house to create a value wheel. See picture for value wheel example. This is where Ms. Guin will be posting everything and anything that has to do with art class. We will not be having art class this week as we usually meet on Tuesdays. Assignments will be updated next week.
