This week you will begin creating your model. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday you will be focusing on gathering your materials and creating it. On THURSDAY we will begin writing our pitches using the worksheet below. If you would like to get a head start on that feel free!
This week, we will begin a new unit titled Reducing Human Footprint. We will be answering the question:
How do our actions affect the environment, and what can we do to reduce those effects? We will begin this unit on Monday and begin our final project for 5th grade on Tuesday! This will be a project that combines social studies and science concepts. We will be completing a Shark Tank project! More details to come but here is an outline of what you should be working on this week in Science: Monday: -Read through Stemscopedia on Stemscopes. Answer all questions. -Watch episode of Shark Tank posted on Seesaw (it will be a youtube link). Complete the 3-2-1 worksheet after watching it. Tuesday: -Brainstorm project ideas and post them to Seesaw for me to see! Wednesday: -Choose one of the ideas from the brainstorm you completed the day before, and post your choice to Seesaw. -Begin creating a list of estimated costs to create you product. This will be due on FRIDAY -Begin drawing what your product will look like. This will be due on FRIDAY. Thursday: -Watch the following videos on Stemscopes and answer the questions: Overusing Resources, Humans on Earth, Environmental Changes Friday: -Upload your drawing/images of what your product will look like. -Upload your cost analysis and materials list to Seesaw. This week we will be finishing up our unit on water sources. Students will finish the week off by creating an infomercial about water distribution around the world.
